It’s been a while, but I love looking back on these memories from that June in Italy. By the time we made it to Pisa, our cameras and phones had died, so we grabbed a disposable camera—giving all our photos that perfect ‘90s film vibe.
Of course, I kept up my lifelong tradition of breaking shoes, lol. Just before our ticketed time to climb the Leaning Tower, one of my shoes completely gave out. With no other option, we dashed into a little (overpriced) shop right next to the tower and grabbed a pair of red Italian shoes adorned with rhinestones. Definitely an unexpected souvenir!
And when they say the "leaning" Tower of Pisa, they aren’t kidding! The moment I stepped inside, I could feel the tilt. Climbing the winding staircase to the top, combined with the incline, nearly made me dizzy. But once we reached the top, the view—and the experience—was unforgettable. The blend of beauty and history was surreal, and I remember standing there, almost imagining Galileo dropping his ball from above.
Traveling is truly incredible—there’s nothing like being immersed in history and creating memories that last a lifetime!
